A brief history

Newport Business Club has evolved over the past 15 years. The club was re-launched in 2004 with the help of a number of sponsors, and business clients, under chair and current committee member Janet Harris, as The City of Newport Business Club. The new club was designed to best reflect the economic basis of the new City-Wales’ youngest. The club recognises the importance of small and medium sized enterprises (SME) to the economy of the city and the significance of the growth of both new technology based and leisure industries to the future of Newport. Former Chairmen include Marketing guru Jonathan Deacon, Accountant Kara Williams, Insurance Broker Neil Underwood and PR Consultant David Barnes, Newport City Council Officer  Janine Dance. Our current Chairman is Dan Goulding, Business Development Manager at Monmouthsire Building Society.

The City of Newport Business Club takes pride in the pure variety and quality of the speakers it attracts and the range of subject matter covered from motivation to sport business support to training and also a fair splash of humour.
