Nick has been Managing Director of Reid Lifting since 2000, growing the company from 2 to 42 people and from £250k to £5.0M turnover with exports representing 50% of sales.
The company has become established as the pioneer in its niche of the design and manufacture of lightweight, portable lifting equipment for manual lifting applications and has won the Queen’s Award for Innovation in 2006 and a double Award for Innovation and International Trade in 2013.
Reid products are used across a wide range of sectors in applications from lifting sewage pumps in Waste Water treatment, lock gate replacement by British Waterways and for movement of priceless monuments in the world’s leading museums such as the Vatican, the British and Victoria & Albert Museums.
The company has recently invested £4M in a purpose built factory in Chepstow, new machine tools, new systems and additional staff which are the vehicle for the next phase of the company’s growth.
